Chameleon Backpackers & Guesthouse

Chameleon Backpackers and Guest House, offers a range of different options for pre and post safari accommodation. Our backpackers lodge offers dormitory beds and a range of twin, double and three bed rooms for those wishing for more privacy. Chameleon Guesthouse, the adjoining property, offers more upmarket accommodation, the private rooms include ensuites and breakfast.
Both the guesthouse and backpackers are centrally located within a few minutes walk from the city, with shopping centres, banks, the post office and restaurants easily accessible. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, informative and our aim is to make you feel at home. Breakfast is included each day as well as free tea and coffee. We have a laundry service, Internet, swimming pool, video/lounge room and bar for your convenience.

Klein Windhoek Guesthouse
Klein Windhoek Guesthouse is situated next to the Klein Windhoek River and offers guests a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable accommodation. The guesthouse has proven to be one of the most popular in Windhoek. Situated in a quite area next to the Klein Windhoek River it offers guests a relaxing atmosphere, but is very centrally situated.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation: There are 9 rooms available, 8 standard and 1 luxury which has a spa-bath and is suitable for honeymooners. A self catering unit with 2 bedrooms, lounge, dining room and kitchen, a bathroom and a braai (barbecue). The unit also has air-conditioning.

A swimming pool, two braai areas, air-conditioning, DSTV and laundry service are some of the facilities we offer. 4 of the rooms have telephone facilities (direct lines with flexi cards). There are also Flexi-card telephone and e-mail facilities available at reception. A proper English breakfast is served and a light evening meal is offered (meal of the day) at a nominal cost. The guesthouse is surrounded by an electrical fence and you can park your vehicle very safely under the car ports or under the trees close to your room.

Bay Self Catering
New in Walvis Bay. Beautiful furnished very large units. Each unit is comfortable, clean and relaxed. A really tranquil home away from home. Situated only 100 meters away from the lagoon, close to all restaurants, a stone’s throw from the harbor and all the night life in town. Very close to all amenities – Ideal for kids.
The house situated on the lagoon has under floor heating in each room. An indoor braai and a spa-bath. We have four fully self-catering apartments with secure parking. Each apartment has its own lounge, kitchen and bedroom with en-suite. Each unit is fully self-catering with own stove, fridge, toaster, satellite television, cutlery, crockery and for the bathrooms they have towels and soap. A spacious home away from home in a relaxing quiet environment.

Daan Viljoen Park
Daan Viljoen Park can be reached driving down Sam Nujoma Avenue for 18 kilometres from Windhoek. The turn-off is clearly signposted. The park, located amongst hills of Khomas Hochland, is the smallest in Namibia and the nearest to Windhoek. History. The park was proclaimed in 1962.
Name. The park was named after a former Administrator Mr. D. Viljoen who took a major part in establishing the park. The park is very popular as an alternative place to stay instead of staying in the capital and for day visitors. The rest camp is located on the banks of Augeigas dam has several bungalows, camping site and picnic site for a day visitors.

Wildlife. Several game species can be seen in the park including kudu, red hartebeest, springbok, klipspringer, steenbok, eland and Oryx antelopes, baboons (burglar bars were installed in the kiosk in the vicinity of the restaurant to keep them out), blue wildebeests and giraffes. As there are no predators you are allowed to leave your vehicle anywhere in the park. Bird species: helmeted guinea fowl, red billed francolin, yellow billed hornbill, rock runner. More than 200 bird species can be observed in the park. Bird list can be obtained in the park's office.
Vegetation type of the park is highland savanna. The most common trees are: mountain thorn, camel thorn, buffalo thorn, red bushwillow and candle thorn.
